This was one of the recommendations that came up for I Felt A Funeral, In My Brain by Will Walton on my library site. Oh, and can I say how much I overuse that system? I am always looking for books and looking at the recs. But yes, this book is about a girl named Laurel who has lost her older sister May. She’s started her first year of high school and her teacher gives her an assignment to write a letter to a famous figure.
I really like the narrative and I think Laurel is an intriguing protagonist. She reminds me of myself at that age. I definitely can relate to her.
Finished Reading
This was a great book. There was not one, not two, but three happy endings. I hope I’m not giving anything away, but it was a lovely book. I enjoyed my experience reading it. I did feel like the secondary couple’s relationship was underdeveloped compared to the primary couple, but I guess that’s to be expected.
To Read Next
This was another one of the recommendations for I Felt A Funeral, In My Brain. I’m looking forward to reading it. I know it’s about a boy grieving his partner and grief is a topic I’ve been very interested in since my grandmother died. I even made a list of books that deal with grief. Morbid much?
This is an Anastasia retelling in space. I have been waiting for this book since I found out about it. But get this, I found out like last week that this is not the only Anastasia retelling in space. There is another one and of course, I checked that one out as well, but I’m really excited to read this one!
